The Panasonic Premium TV-Guide covers 50 TV programmes, up to 14 days in advance, and all the main, regional and sector programmes - including premieres – broadcast in German. A new, powerful 300 MHz CPU sets the standard in the TU-HMS3. In addition, Panasonic engineers have equipped this high-end unit with a generous 64 MB RAM and 2 MB Flash.
It is not only the caching of the TV-Guide data and the "Pausing Live-TV" function that benefit. Addicted channel hoppers can jump to their heart's content from programme to programme without delay. This is where the TU-HMS3 with its 3000 TV and 1000 radio station memory really comes into its own. Due to its standardised DVB common interface, the receiver also welcomes pay-TV programmes. Those who fear losing their way amongst the potential flood of programs can now sit back in their armchair, unconcerned. The Panasonic TU-HMS3 comes complete with a programme manager and a programme director as standard.
In addition, with the intuitive on-screen menu, operating the receiver is child's play. Preinstalled programme data for Germany and Austria turn the often irritating experience of installation and setting up into an enjoyable experience. The newly de-veloped 80 gigabyte hard drive, matched to the transmission speed, can record more than 45 hours of TV and radio programmes. For the impulsive, the TU-HMS3 offers the particularly attractive "one touch" recording feature. One touch of a remote con-trol key is enough - the data is recorded. Thanks to the "time slip" feature, even breaks during live transmissions leave TU-HMS3 owners unperturbed. With the Pausing Live TV feature no important scene need slip by unnoticed. Whilst the
TU-HMS3 is still recording a programme, the viewer can return to the point at which the recording started. The unique "Programme Archiving Management System" of the TU-HMS3 guarantees reliable planning of hard disk recording. In the "Direct Navigator", both the available and the used memory are shown graphically. The Direct Navigator displays all the recordings together, including moving trailers, in five personalised play lists in which the recordings can be sorted and edited. Further-more, it enables all the functions for playback and re-recording to be carried out.
Record on DVD and, can you believe it, without the ads! The optionally available Dubbing Manager makes this possible.
The TU-HMS3 replays TV programmes recorded with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound via its optical digital output. Its various connections place the TU-HMS3 at the very heart of the home entertainment system. This high-end unit boasts two Scart sockets for linking up to a TV receiver and a DVD or video recorder. A TOS link digital audio output provides a connection to a home ****ma system. Furthermore, the TU-HMS3 includes a separate S-VHS port, one video and two audio Cinch sockets, in addition to a USB 1.1 interface.
The TU-HMS3 automatically downloads new software via satellite. The TU-HMS3 all-round receiver and hard disk recorder will be available in Germany in late autumn 2003.
